About Us

In 2001, Brenda had an opportunity to take a basket weaving class at her church in Missouri. She jumped at the chance and has been passionate about weaving ever since. Once she moved to Tennessee she was asked to teach a basket weaving class. Sherryl was one of her first students at that class in 2012. About a year later we created a partnership weaving baskets and teaching basket weaving locally.

We both weave out of our homes and will get together to talk out different design issues and create our own baskets. There are several local art shows and festivals that we attend each year selling our baskets. We also teach, mostly at various churches around the area. We both have what they call "day" jobs and hope that this will be an additional source of income once we hit retirement.

We are both life long crafters and we love what we do. Brenda also crochets afghans and cross stitches, while Sherryl is beading when she is not weaving baskets.

Classes

We are now working with Niche, a new art center in Fairview. We are scheduling class that we will be teaching at their location. Go to www.nicheartcenter.com to sign up. We can teach a basket weaving class to your group of 6-16 people, ages 15 and up. A class will typically range in price from $40-$80 dollars. We come to you and bring all our weaving supplies and the tools you will need. All you provide is the location, tables, chairs and water. So contact us today to schedule your class. Here is a small selection of baskets you can weave.

Our Team

Brenda Cashion

Brenda has been weaving since 2000. At last count there are over 100 baskets in her home that she has woven and they are all in use. As the more outgoing one, she also teaches our basket weaving classes. Her "day" job is a surgical nurse at a local hospital. Basket weaving is a great stress reliever after a day in the operating room.

Sherryl Sneed

Sherryl has been weaving since 2013. She took a basket class that Brenda was teaching at church. She is now weaving and designing her own baskets. She handles the business side and helps Brenda with the classes. Her "day" job is Assistant Controller for a local production studio.

Testamonials

"Thanks for contributing to our education emphasis with your demonstration and allowing visitors to try their hand at basket making - much appreciated!"

TN Agricultural Museum

I love my basket. I use it in the kitchen to keep our charger cords stored while not using them. It looks great with our country decor. I have used it to store left over baggies. It is a great multipurpose basket and cute too.
